Wow, thank you for this response, it is lovely to hear thoughts about this issue from another mind. I will admit that I often live in a utopian imagination, and my mind can fall short on understanding how these values would actually and practically come into fruition in the real world. It is really wonderful to hear someone pondering the practicalities. At least if we can start with the foundation, the inner transformation of values, it will be easier to manifest from that basis. I love that quote: “you must master a new way to think before you can master a new way to be”. If everyone a) was taught to recognize quality handicrafts and b) demanded nothing less, then maybe the industries that try to bypass those values would lose social capital.
