What was so striking about this particular experience for me (and what made me want to write it down) was that I found a connection in an unexpected place. It was a moment that allowed me to step out of my own self — my woman voice, my American voice, etc., and just simply Be, as a fellow human being. I am very interested in strategic withdrawal from those identities, so that we are able to focus on our oneness.
